Not Right. Not Left.

“Taking on a challenge is a lot like riding a horse, isn’t it? If you’re comfortable while you’re doing it, you’re probably doing it wrong.” - Ted Lasso

Talking with those who think differently makes us uncomfortable doesn't it? In a time of political polarization, it's easy to forget that we all share a common goal: to make the world a better place. Democrats and Republicans may have different ideas and approaches, but we can still work together towards a brighter future. Imagine a world where political leaders put aside their differences and came together to address the pressing issues of our time. This is not a far-fetched dream; it's a vision that starts with each of us. By engaging in civil conversations and finding common ground, we can work towards a better future for ourselves and generations to come. Faithful Politics wants to help start that conversation.

UP.

UP is the direction you look when you need help, but UP can also be the high-road you take when others say things to us that challenge our very existence.  As listeners of this podcast, you have a crucial role to play in promoting civil conversations on faith and politics in your personal and professional lives. By engaging in respectful and open dialogue with others who may have different beliefs and opinions, you can learn from one another and gain new perspectives.

Faithful Politics wants to show you what this can look like. It is essential to understand that civil conversations are not about convincing others to adopt your beliefs, but rather about building relationships based on mutual understanding and respect. Each week the hosts (who are very different politically) will engage a wide range of guests from different backgrounds and beliefs that challenges them. The intent of the interactions is not to influence, but rather illuminate. We hope you will give us a listen!
